PERSIMMON FARM
The property has many native persimmon trees.
We planted the first dozen of the Asian persimmon trees in February of 2023. Asian persimmons are not well known, but their popularity is increasing. They are about the size of a small apple.
The plan is to create a "pick your own persimmon farm."
For now, enjoy the existing persimmon trees and the many other pear, peach, and pecan trees on the property.
PERSIMMONS
Persimmons are ready for harvest in the fall, typically between late August and December depending on variety and climate. Pick astringent varieties when they are deep orange, somewhat translucent, and very soft. Harvest non-astringent persimmons when firm and at mature size and color.
